CAPE FEAR BOTANICAL GARDENS

Tai Chi Tuesdays in the Garden


Study T'ai Chi in an outdoor setting. The Garden is one of  Rich Shifu's favorite places in Fayetteville. This class will focus on the health benefits of the Yang Family Tai Chi. Classes will begin in September and will be open to members and non-members alike.

GUIDING WELLNESS

Tai Chi


This ancient Chinese traditional Tai Chi class is choreographed with a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner coupled with deep breathing. Students will notice improved strength, flexibility, balance and aerobic conditioning.

KIWANIS REC CENTER(Honeycutt Park)

Northern Fist Kung Fu

Learn the traditional fighting art of Northern China as brought to life by our two instructors. Lot's of individual attention makes this class beneficial for beginners and students that already have martial arts experience. Participants learn in the traditional way, beginning with exercises and forms(pre-set choreographed movements). This class is physically demanding and full of vigorous movements.  

(Ages 7 and up)

Yang Style Taijiquan  (taught as a martial art)

This class focuses on the traditional fighting style of the Yang Family. Taijiquan is a comprehensive martial art that is designed around the philosophy of  Daoism(Taoism). The curriculum of this class is comprehensive including the Yang Family 108 posture form, 88 posture two person San Shou, and various weapons. Applications are trained for all postures and forms. Classes focus on fundamentals of movement, form, self defense and performance.

T'ai Chi
This class focuses on teaching the simplified forms (8 postures and 24 posture). Started as a class for the MS Society of Fayetteville, it has grown to include many seniors and those with and without movement disabilities. Relaxed and stress free, qigong is a big part of this class, participants benefit from increased movement and gentle pain free exercise.
